Greater Kruger, Madikwe and Victoria Falls

We hold your room at City Lodge from the first night so that it is ready the moment you land early the next morning. There is nothing to do on Day 1; this night simply secures your early check-in.

Welcome to Africa. You land at OR Tambo early on the morning of Day 2, where our representative meets you on arrival and helps you through immigration and customs with your luggage. City Lodge is a short walk from the terminal, and your room is ready and waiting. The day is yours to rest and recover from the long journey before the safari begins.

After breakfast it is a short walk back to the terminal for your flight to Hoedspruit. A little over an hour later you land in the Lowveld, where your driver meets you for the road transfer of a little over an hour to Tangala Safari Camp in the Thornybush Game Reserve. You arrive in time for lunch, then settle into your tent before heading out on your first afternoon activity.

Days at Tangala follow the rhythm of the bush: a wake-up call before dawn and coffee by the fire, then out on the morning activity while the air is still cool. Brunch is served on your return, and the middle of the day is yours to rest. High tea brings everyone together again before the afternoon activity, which runs into the evening, and dinner follows back at camp.

Your last full day at Tangala brings morning and afternoon activities and a final evening around the fire.

A travel day. After an early start and a shortened morning activity, your driver takes you back to Hoedspruit for the flight to Johannesburg. From OR Tambo our driver collects you for the road transfer west to the Madikwe Game Reserve, a journey of about four and a half hours, and you reach Buffalo Ridge Safari Lodge in the early evening in time for dinner.

Full days at Buffalo Ridge bring a game drive each morning and afternoon, with time to rest at the lodge in between.

Your last full day in Madikwe ends with a final evening at the lodge. The next day starts early, so we suggest packing the night before.

An early start, with coffee and a packed breakfast for the road. Your driver takes you back to OR Tambo for the flight to Victoria Falls, and on arrival in Zimbabwe our representative meets you for the private transfer to Bayete Guest Lodge. You arrive in the late afternoon with the evening free to settle in.

Three days at leisure in Victoria Falls follow. The Falls themselves are a short drive from Bayete, and the town offers plenty to fill the days at your own pace.

A relaxed final morning in Victoria Falls before our representative collects you from Bayete for the private transfer to the airport and your flight back to Johannesburg. On arrival at OR Tambo it is a short walk to City Lodge for your last night in Africa.

On the final day you check out of City Lodge and walk across to the terminal at OR Tambo for your flight home. We hope you travel well.
